another day...a lot more work done!

Yesterday afternoon, Kevin started grinding on the 906 firewall.

This morning he put a layer of fiberglass on it.

trial fit in the car

Bruce is keeping the boys on their toes.

Andy has started installing components on the chassis
to make sure all the parts and the fiberglass fit together properly.

pedal assembly

a little more bodywork on the firewall before Kevin paints it

ready for action now

just finished applying gray duratec primer

More progress on the new G-99 tail.

Remember, this is what the old one looked like after the fire at Rennsport III.

Here's the hatch for the F.I.A. luggage box that Kevin made yesterday.

Bill is preparing his carbon fiber patches.

Still working on the side pods.

Looking good!

Bret is making a tool to help with the fabrication of a 911R oil tank.

Oooooh....ahhhhh!

And then there's Bruce...just one of the boys!

Andy is sanding the doorsill, preparing it to get glued to the chassis.

906 firewall

lots of repair to be done

Andy and Kevin are fixing all the holes.

Kevin is the master of fiberglass repair.

Here's how it looks now, next step...Kevin will do some grinding.

Bill is still working on the G-99.

The boys love their tools!

Side-pod repair requires teamwork.

Gotta work fast...before the resin gets hard.

Kevin likes to over catalyze because he's always in a hurry...
that's why they have to work so fast!

making progress

Kevin is making the hatch for the F.I.A. luggage box.

Tomorrow, Kevin will trim the part & pop it out of the mold.

while I was away

A lot got done here while I was out of town for 4 days...
Here's just a taste of what was done and what is happening today.

The master cylinders were installed on the K8.

Suspension components got anodized.

Bret started installing the new components.

Pretty stuff!

Bill came to help get the G-99 ready for paint.
I guess they use whatever spacers work!

Having another body guy in the shop really helps Kevin out.

We use Bill whenever he can get away from his other obligations to come and help us.

Andy prepared the floor of the 906 for the patches of fiberglass that will hold the floor to the chassis tubing. You can see that he has sanded the sections where the patches will be applied.

Now that the floor is prepared to receive the patches,
Kevin and Andy go to work.

Kevin is applying the patches and Andy is spreading
cabosil between the floor and tubing for extra bonding.

This section is now patched.
A few weights are positioned to keep the floor flat.

Kevin is getting one of the doorsills ready for paint.

Andy is working on one of the inner panels.
