917 restoration - post #7 - removing the windshield & wiring

We're getting ready to tape Part 8 of the 917 restoration for youtube.

Today's hat is courtesy of Phil Kenyon,
www.CKnet.org.uk
"This was the first hat I ever bought and therefore would have been the hat I wore the first time I went to LeMans, back in 1990 to see the first year with chicanes on the Mulsanne straight and the last year of the old pit complex...happy days racing? And this trip to LeMans was probably the start of the sports car bug, and hence the start of my interest in the 917!"

Kevin is showing how he takes the windshield out.

wire & wrenches?
gotta watch the youtube!

Andy is removing the wiring.

Seem that you've reached a stage where you can't go back !
Ouch , my heart almost stopped , when Kevin's hand touched the windshield , exactly in the same time a strong noise came from nowhere ( Surely from Andy in fact ) hahaha , Gunnar team could specialised in movie's special effects now , thriller genre !

Another great episode and glad you liked the hat !! I'll offer it as a small gesture towards helping restore the car.... if I was anywhere near close I'd stop by and help turn a spanner or two !!

Keep up the great work (and thats both the restoration and the videos)
