multi-tasking...again!

Here is a vintage photograph of the 906 we are restoring.

Tuesday afternoon, Bret and Andy helped Kevin sand the chassis to get it ready for paint.

Yesterday morning, Kevin came in early and painted it.

When he was finished, he was sweat from head to toe from more than 2 hours in the booth.

Nice!

Now, it's positioned on the floorboard.

Kevin is now starting to repair the fiberglass that makes up the pedal firewall.

Slowly, but surely, this car is coming together.

Here is the pedal assembly that he has been putting together,
but we are waiting on some custom-made springs.

the lone weekend warrior

Unless we have a project that has to be somewhere in a few days, Kevin is the only one who works weekends. This past weekend, he made a 906 floor, started repairs on a 962 nose, and made a roof section to a 917.
The 906 floor mold is now in the paint booth ready for the next step.

Kevin is spraying the first coat of duratec, which will act as a gel coat.

ready for trimming

Now, Monday morning, Andy and Kevin will be doing a
"mock assembly" of
all the body components to the 906.

trimming and fitting

Andy is the official lifter while Kevin is the official grinder.

The frame is a little dusty from sitting in the body shop.

Now, Andy is doing the fitting...

and grinding.

left front fender well

Kevin is applying bondo to the frame to get rid of the pits.

Last Friday, the boys did a little more "mock assembly"
on the 962 after I published the last post.

nose on

repairs have started on the nose

lot of fixin to do

Still a lot of work to do, but at least we have begun.

Bret has disassembled the K8 master cylinders
and is now cleaning out brake lines.

That's all for now!
