917 restoration - post #8 - grinding the left side roof & nose
The 917 is now in the paint booth,
ready for Kevin to get busy grinding again.

grinding away to discover more historical evidence
Uncovering a seam which shows where a new nose was attached.
This seam is where the roof post meets the nose on the left side.
Many layers of paint...the history of this car are being documented.
The left front fender has also been patched.
Kevin has put the green tape on his section
to keep the original colors for a paint match later.
